Job Description

ESP Associates, Inc. (ESP) is seeking a Special Inspector / Senior Engineering Technician to perform inspection and testing services related to, but not limited to: soils, foundations, retaining walls, reinforced concrete, structural masonry, fireproofing and post-tensioned concrete.
Responsibilities:
Review and understand project related drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes Perform Special Inspections in the field for project document and code compliance Perform routine and advanced field tests in accordance with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO, DOT or other standards Document observations and inspections of construction including discrepancy notices for non-compliant items Communicate effectively with ESP project staff and project construction team Report inspections and test results through ESP's field data collection software
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or associate degree required Experience in inspection and construction testing of soil, concrete, masonry and/or asphalt materials preferred ACI Field Grade I Certification, required ICC Certifications, strongly preferred, any or all of the following: ICC Soils ICC Reinforced Concrete ICC Structural Masonry ICC Spray-Applied Fireproofing ICC Structural Steel and Bolting NICET Certifications and/or Post Tension Institute (PTI) Level I or II certifications will be considered beneficial in the role Effective oral and written communication skills Attention to detail Willingness to work in varying weather conditions Occasional overnight hours and/or travel for work Ability to lift 50 lbs Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.
