The Construction Inspector will conduct field inspections for a wide range of Transportation, Highways and Structural construction projects in the heavy civil industry. Essential Functions As a construction inspector in RK&K's Construction / CEI division you will perform complex and routine inspections of construction to evaluate if appropriate materials and construction processes are being used; and that construction conforms to plans, specifications, and special provisions Conduct field inspections Use mobile devices to document work - as required in North Carolina Documents the results of the inspection and communicates to the supervisor Conducts field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation as well as other contract administration documentation Inspects work zones for proper traffic control setup, erosion control devices and maintenance thereof, utility coordination and right-of-way issue resolution Required Skills and Experience 0-2 years of roadway inspection experience for highway construction methods, materials, standards and specifications. Valid driver's license and favorable driving record Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Preferred Skills and Experience SCDOT Erosion & Sediment Control Level
