Do you enjoy being outdoors, paying attention to detail, and working alongside experienced professionals to help ensure quality work is delivered safely and accurately? CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking two Junior Inspectors to join our Construction Inspection Team in Columbia, SC or Charleston, SC. In this role, you will work alongside seasoned inspectors, observe project activities firsthand, document construction progress, and help verify that work is completed in accordance with project plans and specifications. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry.
What You'll Do:
Observe and monitor the construction activities on highways, streets, roadways, and other transportation structures, for compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards Record field observations, measurements, and computations to verify work performed Prepare clear, detailed reports and maintain accurate project records Coordinate or conduct quality assurance testing, inspections, and surveys
What You Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Engineering Science, Construction Management, or related field preferred No prior experience required; prior construction or observation experience a plus Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications; knowledge of construction techniques Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) Experience with AWP is a plus Strong math, communication, and teamwork skills Valid driver's license required; extensive travel may be required ACI and South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) Earthwork and Concrete Roadway certifications preferred

Salary Range:
$23.00 - $28.00 Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
