Qualifications Driving Full Job Description Salary Range:
$63,640.72 - $63,640.72 Works under the direction of the assigned supervisor in the Engineering Division. Inspects all phases of construction work and grading on various construction projects under contract by the City of Memphis. Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions for structural installations. Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications of projects. Interprets blueprints and specifications. Records quantities of materials received and used. Maintains daily diary of construction and inspection activities. Computes monthly estimates of work completed and materials used. Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from blueprints and reports such changes for incorporation on master blueprints. Makes site visits by driving to various construction sites as needed. Investigates citizen complaints and reports back to supervisor of action taken. Consults with property owners and contractors concerning right-of way agreements.
