Our Outside Plant (OSP) projects power the future of connectivity, and we're looking for a detail-oriented OSP Inspector to ensure our work meets the highest standards.
Job Overview:
We're hiring an OSP Inspector to join our field operations team, overseeing the construction and installation of fiber optic networks. You'll be our eyes on the ground, inspecting work like directional drilling and fiber pulling, ensuring compliance with construction drawings, and verifying locates. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct field inspections of OSP construction activities, including directional drilling, trenching, and fiber optic cable pulling. Verify that all work aligns with construction drawings, specifications, and industry standards. Identify and confirm utility locates (e.g., gas, water, electric, etc) to ensure safe and accurate construction practices. Monitor and document contractor performance, flagging deviations or quality issues in real time. Inspect fiber optic installations for proper handling, placement, and tension during pulling operations. Collaborate with construction crews, construction managers, and project managers to resolve issues and maintain project timelines. Maintain detailed inspection reports, including photos, measurements, and compliance notes. Ensure adherence to safety protocols (e.g., OSHA standards) and environmental regulations. Perform damage investigations, document, and provide a path to resolution.
What We're Looking For:
Experience :
1+ years in OSP construction, fiber optic installation, or a related field inspection role.
Technical Skills :
Strong understanding of OSP construction processes (e.g., directional drilling, trenching, aerial work). Hands-on knowledge of fiber pulling techniques and equipment. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, and as-built plans, provide redlines Familiarity with identifying and verifying utility locates (e.g., 811 call-before-you-dig markings).
Attributes :
Detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Education :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in telecom or construction a plus.
Certifications :
Preferred:
OSHA 10/30, Flagger Certification, or telecom-specific training (e.g., BICSI OSP).
Tools :
Basic proficiency with field tools (e.g., measuring devices, hand tools, tablets for reporting) and mapping software (e.g., ARCGIS).
Requirements :
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed. Why Join Us? $24-$27 an hour Eligible for benefits after 90 days employment:
