Building Inspector City of Edinburg in Edinburg, TX is actively seeking a dedicated Building Inspector to perform functions within the Building Safety Department. Are you seeking engaging work ? A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BUILDING INSPECTOR
This position ensures buildings comply with codes and ordinances. Performs building inspections including ensuring public health and safety. Some other duties include maintaining residential and commercial electrical, plumbing and mechanical licenses and certifications. You are constantly on your toes and ready for any new and unexpected challenges that may arise in the city. You enjoy being helpful and have no problem providing assistance and support as needed. The city needs someone like you with great people skills in providing excellent customer service to all our customers, and finds genuine enjoyment in what you do!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN BUILDING INSPECTOR
High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalency. Three (3) years of building inspector experience. Prefer applicant obtain Certification as an International Code Council Inspector within one (1) year of employment. Must obtain State Plumbing Inspector License by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners within two (2) years of employment. Bilingual English/Spanish Are you someone who can handle multiple tasks? Do you have excellent oral and written communication skills? Are you attentive to detail?
