Utility Engineer-in-Training (EIT) - Utility Coordinator Lamb-Star Engineering - 3.1 Frisco, TX Job Details 1 hour ago Benefits Profit sharing Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Site surveys for utility detection Underground surveys Bachelor's degree in engineering Transportation engineering Right-of-way Full Job Description Job Overview Assist with planning, coordinating, and supporting Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) investigations in accordance with ASCE 38 standards. Perform utility records research and interpret utility information to support engineering design and SUE investigations. Coordinate with field personnel, utility owners, and project teams to support utility investigations, utility coordination, test hole investigations, and project development. Identify existing utility conflicts and assist engineers in developing conflict avoidance and resolutions. Prepare utility base maps, 3D models, conflict matrices, exhibits, plan sheets, and other utility engineering deliverables. Support utility coordination activities and communications with utility owners throughout project development, as needed. Perform field visits to verify existing utility conditions and support SUE investigations and utility relocation efforts. Coordinate with design staff, survey personnel, construction teams, clients, and utility owners throughout project development. Assist with quality control reviews of utility engineering deliverables and project documentation prior to submittal. Manage multiple assignments while meeting project schedules and support project managers with project coordination and delivery. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans, utility records, construction documents, and technical reports. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams, utility owners, survey personnel, field staff, and clients. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Bentley OpenRoads Designer (preferred) MicroStation AutoCAD Civil 3D AutoCAD ArcGIS and Field Maps Bluebeam Revu Adobe Acrobat Microsoft Office Suite Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans, utility records, construction documents, and technical reports. Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary project teams, utility owners, survey personnel, field staff, and clients. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain EIT within a defined timeframe. Candidates who do not currently hold an EIT certification may be considered for a Coordinator position and will be expected to obtain their EIT as a condition of career advancement. Two or more years of experience supporting Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), utility coordination, transportation, municipal, or civil engineering projects. Experience with ASCE 38 utility investigations and utility Quality Levels Experience preparing utility exhibits, conflict matrices, and meeting documentation. Experience interpreting utility records, survey data, and SUE deliverables. Familiarity with utility relocation, utility coordination, and conflict resolution processes. Understanding of utility easements and right-of-way documentation. Field experience with SUE, surveying, construction inspection, or utility installation. Knowledge of TxDOT utility engineering, SUE, and municipal utility coordination procedures.
