Job Description

The Building Services Inspector position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact through inspections, investigations, and code enforcement. The Building Services Inspector position receives and investigates code violation complaints; enforces building and municipal codes; conducts building inspections; attends court proceedings; and performs other related duties as assigned. The Ideal candidate will have strong communication and computer skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to read, interpret, and apply City ordinance and codes.
Makes on-site inspections to ensure compliance with applicable City ordinances and building codes. May review plans for minor building projects such as carports, fences, driveways etc.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Manage complaints regarding various codes, either on the phone, in office meetings, or during on-site inspections. Works with the general public to obtain compliance.Makes on-site inspections to ensure compliance with applicable City ordinances and building codes. May review plans for minor building projects such as carports, fences, driveways etc.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Knowledge of City, State, and National codes. Ability to read plans, inspect structures for code compliance and to communicate with contractors and the general public.
