We have served the Intermountain West for over 50 years. STRATA has offices in Post Falls, Boise, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Salt Lake, Utah. We currently have a Special Inspector position open in Salt Lake, Utah. Position Description The Special Inspector is responsible for: Conducting field construction observation and material testing to confirm compliance with local building codes, project specifications, and project contracts. Collecting samples and performing specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control tests on construction materials and building components per AASHTO, ATM, and IBC standards. Compiling detailed records of observations, inspections, and test results. Report results in a timely, accurate manner. Using, maintaining, and calibrating various field and laboratory testing equipment. Assisting and supporting laboratory testing in accordance with the Quality Management Systems (QMS), project requirements, and national standards (e.g., AASHTO, ASTM, IBC, etc.). Qualified candidates will have the following: American Concrete Institute (ACI) and/or International Code Council (ICC) certification in concrete field testing, soils, reinforced concrete, and/or post-tensioned concrete 1-3 years of previous Special Inspector experience A team approach to problem-solving Excellent written and verbal communication skills The ability to operate a basic computer to prepare accurate and timely reports Experience with Microsoft software A professional manner at all times and be client-service oriented Candidates must be willing to travel to remote project locations and arrive at the job site on time. The work schedule/hours will vary based on the project and location. This position requires a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
