Job Title:
Field Soil Tester - Start Now Job Description This full-time Field Technician role focuses on performing inspections and testing on construction and private development sites, supporting quality control and compliance with project specifications. The position is based out of a Franklin, WI office and involves both field and laboratory work related to concrete, soil, and aggregates. Responsibilities Perform field inspections on active construction and private development sites to support quality control and compliance with project requirements. Conduct field observation and testing during concrete placements to verify proper procedures, materials, and workmanship. Sample, inspect, and test soil and aggregates at construction sites to assess suitability and conformance with project specifications. Perform laboratory testing of concrete cylinders, aggregates, and soil to determine strength, composition, and other engineering properties. Use hand tools and testing equipment safely and effectively during field and laboratory activities. Document inspection and test results accurately and clearly for use in project records and reports. Communicate findings and observations to project stakeholders in a professional and timely manner. Essential Skills Experience performing field observation and testing during concrete placements. Ability to sample, inspect, and test soil and aggregates in a construction environment. Hands-on experience with laboratory testing of concrete cylinders, aggregates, and soil. Proficiency using hand tools safely and effectively in both field and laboratory settings. Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and address issues encountered during inspections and testing. Ability to follow established procedures, standards, and testing protocols accurately. Attention to detail and strong documentation skills for recording test data and observations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Familiarity with construction site practices and basic construction processes. Comfort working in both field and laboratory settings. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively across multiple site visits and testing tasks. Strong communication skills to interact with project team members and site personnel. The position requires regular use of hand tools and testing equipment, as well as handling concrete, soil, and aggregate samples. You should expect variable site conditions typical of construction environments and be comfortable working in different weather conditions while adhering to appropriate safety practices. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
