Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading US based provider of construction assurance, testing and inspection in civil and commercial construction. Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. What are we looking for? The Special Inspector is responsible for performing field inspections and construction materials testing as needed to ensure conformance with construction plans and specifications. The inspector is also responsible for preparing inspection daily reports and testing data sheets. What you'll do: Performs a variety of testing, project-specific observations, and inspection duties under general supervision. Operates testing equipment and conducts testing, (example: Soil, concrete, or other) and provides an assessment of data through reporting Works utilizing drawings, specifications, and diagrams Uses specific methods to observe site activities and perform tasks Reads and Interprets Plans and Specifications Maintains and calibrates standard equipment Performs complex assignments Attends project meetings Makes detailed observations and gives the interpretation of results Maintains detailed documentation and data from test results Operates a calculator to calculate mathematical test results Communicates effectively with client and project teams Must be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
