Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking motivated and detail-oriented Soil Compaction Technicians to join our dynamic construction and materials testing team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting soil compaction tests and inspections on construction sites to ensure materials meet project specifications and industry standards. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of construction projects by providing accurate data, performing quality control assessments, and supporting the overall success of our clients' infrastructure development. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors in diverse environments, utilizing technical skills to ensure construction materials meet rigorous standards. Duties Perform soil compaction testing using specialized equipment in accordance with ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) standards and AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) standards. Collect, analyze, and document data related to soil density, moisture content, and other relevant parameters during construction activities. Conduct construction soil testing, concrete testing, asphalt testing, and masonry inspections to verify material quality and compliance with project specifications. Maintain detailed records of test results, inspections, and site conditions using Microsoft Office tools for reporting purposes. Communicate effectively with project managers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders regarding test findings and quality control measures. Assist in construction materials inspection processes to ensure adherence to contract requirements and safety protocols. Support quality inspection activities by identifying potential issues early and recommending corrective actions to prevent delays or rework. Experience Prior laboratory experience or hands-on experience in construction materials testing is highly desirable. Demonstrated outdoor work experience on construction sites involving soil, concrete, asphalt, or masonry is preferred. Strong understanding of ASTM standards, AASHTO standards, and other relevant technical specifications related to construction materials. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for data collection, analysis, and reporting purposes. Basic math skills including numeracy for precise measurements and calculations during testing procedures. Knowledge of construction inspection processes, concrete forming techniques, and construction contracts is advantageous. Excellent analysis skills with attention to detail to identify deviations from standards promptly. Effective client communication skills to relay technical information clearly and professionally.
