GED Crane Full Job Description Crane Operator/Class A Truck Driver Job Description:
The crane operator will work with a variety of pieces of equipment. You will be an integral part of every project and getting a chance to improve your working knowledge of machinery and standard construction site practices. You will support construction site operations by picking and placing equipment where needed. Job Responsibilities:
Operate assigned equipment daily according to the schedule and instructions noted on the job ticket, choosing set-up space, and rigging equipment, lifting to complete each task safely and efficiently. Inspect crane, trucks, and equipment daily, perform routine maintenance such as PM's and minor repairs as required and initiate additional repair requests from mechanics as needed. Control cranes, trucks, lifts, and other equipment using standard operating procedures to ensure effective transportation of equipment and crane operating and safety for all personnel on site. Create and update detailed log of daily operations, job tickets for billing, work orders, fuel tickets, time tickets, driver logs, and inspection forms. Meet with site manager prior to beginning work at each job site. Know the manager's goal and timing for each job. Maintain visual and radio contact with ground or roof crew according to best practices. Provide additional support to others on the job site or crane yard as necessary including operating several types of equipment and training or monitoring junior operators ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently, and tools and equipment are returned clean and orderly to their storage area.
