Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Grapple Truck Operator to join our dynamic materials recycling team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating specialized grapple trucks equipped with hydraulic arms and heavy-duty load handling attachments to efficiently move, lift, and secure materials on various utility sites, warehouses, or shipping yards. This includes various storm clean up locations. Your expertise will ensure safe, precise, and timely material handling operations that keep projects moving forward. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy equipment in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict safety standards and regulations. Responsibilities Operate grapple trucks and boom trucks with precision, utilizing hydraulic systems and load handling attachments to lift, transport, and position materials safely across various job sites. Follow established load handling procedures in crane operations, including rigging, load securing methods, and adherence to safety protocols. Conduct pre-operation inspections of the crane, hydraulics, safety equipment, and lifting accessories to ensure optimal functioning and compliance with safety regulations. Secure loads using appropriate rigging techniques, ensuring stability during transit and compliance with OSHA safety standards. Coordinate with team members to plan lifting sequences, communicate load requirements, and execute tasks efficiently within construction or warehouse environments. Maintain detailed records of crane operation logs, safety checks, incident reports, and load documentation for accountability and regulatory compliance. Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations, including the implementation of OSHA standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Requirements Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as cranes, boom trucks, backhoes or similar material handling machinery in construction or warehouse settings. Mechanical knowledge of hydraulics, lifting equipment, overhead cranes, and load securing rigging methods. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial driving and transporting heavy machinery or materials. Strong understanding of materials handling procedures involving crane operation and the safe use of lifting accessories. Knowledge of construction site safety regulations and the implementation of OSHA safety standards. Ability to perform routine maintenance checks on crane equipment and troubleshoot hydraulic or mechanical issues as needed.
