Job Description
We are seeking an experienced 1st Class Crane Operator for operations in a shipyard environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience operating a wide range of cranes and material-handling equipment and will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, precision, and efficiency in an industrial maritime setting. Key Responsibilities Operate hydraulic cranes, friction cranes, dockside cranes, forklifts, and cherry pickers safely and efficiently Perform crane operations in support of shipyard construction, repair, and maintenance activities Follow all shipyard safety procedures, lift plans, and operational guidelines Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and report deficiencies Communicate effectively with riggers, signal persons, and supervisors Maintain productivity while working in shift conditions Required Qualifications Minimum of 3 years of 1st Class shipyard crane operating experience Proven ability to operate: Hydraulic cranes Friction cranes Dockside cranes Forklifts Cherry pickers Strong knowledge of shipyard safety standards and crane operations Certifications & Documentation Valid crane operator certifications are required Applicants must submit an updated, detailed resume outlining specific types of crane and equipment experience Additional Information Specialist pay rate may be offered based on demonstrated experience and qualifications Resume details are critical—please clearly list crane types, tonnage, and environments
