Responsibilities:
Operate various types of cranes, such as overhead cranes to lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and components as needed. Conduct pre-operational checks on the crane and related equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. Interpret load charts and rigging diagrams to determine load capacities, rigging configurations, and lifting procedures. Coordinate with supervisors, riggers, and other team members to plan and execute lifting operations safely and efficiently. Inspect lifting attachments, slings, and rigging hardware for defects or damage before each lift and report any issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel. Monitor crane operations closely to ensure safe and precise movement of loads, adjusting crane controls as needed to maintain stability and control. Communicate effectively with ground crew, spotters, and other personnel involved in lifting operations to coordinate movements and ensure safety. Assist in the maintenance and repair of cranes and related equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and minor adjustments, to ensure optimal performance. Participate in training programs to improve skills and knowledge related to crane operation, safety procedures, and company policies. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support the overall goals and objectives of the company.
Education Requirements/Qualifications:
Reading and speaking proficiency in either English or Spanish required. Minimum of a high school education or equivalent Valid crane operator certification or license. Proven experience as a crane operator in a manufacturing or construction environment. Strong understanding of crane operation principles, load dynamics, and rigging techniques. Ability to interpret load charts, rigging diagrams, and other technical documents.
Job Requirements/Special Skills:
Ability to speak and read either English or Spanish required Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness. Ability to work at heights Attention to detail and accuracy in crane operation and load handling. Ability to work independently and on a team Strong verbal communication skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to stand and work for prolonged periods of time Ability to work in conditions of varying heat and cold where noise levels are at or above 90 decibels
