Job Description

Crane Operator Abernathy, TX Type:
Full Time General Information/Job Summary Responsible for operating a stationary or traveling crane to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. Depresses buttons, lifts levers, and ensures load is safely attached to crane before bringing it down. Responsibilities/Competencies Operate a 70 - 100-ton May operate crane according to signals from personnel or helper may bolt, pin boom sections together to modify boom lengths. Perform routine maintenance. Take complete charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown and operation of crane. Drives trucks to worksites and unloads trucks. Any other duties as assigned. Requirements Knowledgeable in OSHA Regulations and ANSI standards in crane operations. Must be able to pass a drug test, background check, and fit for duty test. Must possess a current NCCCO or equivalent crane operator certification. Safety Requirements On a continual basis, promotes an awareness of environmental, health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment and ensures compliance with all accompany policies. Ability to pass drug test as mandated by the Saulsbury Industries and Department of Transportation anti-drug program. Must attend and successfully complete Saulsbury Industries safety training education. Attends safety meetings and specialty training as directed by management. Attends various training classes as may be assigned by management. Perform related duties and responsibilities as required. Ability to take needed safety precautions in performing the work. Physical Requirements Manual and finger dexterity Eye-hand coordination Depth perception Ability to see things clearly that are beyond arm's reach (far visual acuity) Ability to see small details. Ability to lift and carry up to fifty pounds. Ability to climb 30-foot ladders without resting. Ability to maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to reach above head while sitting or standing. Ability to reach below knees while standing. Ability to stoop or kneel. Ability to work 50 or more hours each week.
