Houston, TX & Surrounding Areas Local Work | Established Small/Midsized Crane Company We are looking for an experienced 18-50 Ton Truck Crane Operator to join our team. We are a smaller, family-owned crane company with approximately 20 employees. Experience We're Looking For Crane operating experience is required. Experience operating 18, 30, 40 and/or 50-ton truck cranes Experience performing local crane work throughout Houston and surrounding areas Experience safely lifting, setting, loading, unloading, and delivering materials/equipment Taxi crane experience is strongly preferred Commercial driving experience preferred Recent CDL driving-school graduates may be considered depending on crane experience and qualifications Must be comfortable working directly with customers and jobsite personnel Responsibilities Safely operate 18-50 ton truck cranes Safely drive crane trucks to and from jobsites throughout the Houston area Occasionally operate tractor-trailer equipment when qualified and needed Perform lifts, deliveries, loading, and unloading Properly set up and break down the crane for each job Rig and unrig loads when needed and qualified to do so Follow hand signals and communicate effectively with qualified signal persons Work with customers and jobsite personnel to complete jobs safely and efficiently Complete required daily logs, tickets, inspections, and other documentation Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections Immediately communicate equipment problems, safety concerns, delays, damage, or incidents to dispatch/management Keep assigned crane/truck clean, organized, fueled, and ready for work Take care of company equipment as if it were your own Assist with reasonable shop, yard, equipment, or operational needs when needed Qualifications Current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Current NCCCO or NCCER crane operator certification applicable to the equipment being operated Proven truck-crane operating experience Safe and competent commercial driving ability Ability to understand and follow crane hand signals Knowledge of proper crane setup, load control, capacities, and safe operating practices Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position Ability to identify and communicate basic mechanical/equipment issues Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to understand instructions, safety requirements, and jobsite procedures Strong work ethic and attention to safety Must be dependable and on time Must be coachable Must be able to work independently while still being a team player The Type of Operator We Want We're not a 500-ton crane company, and we're not trying to be one. We run smaller taxi cranes, stay busy with local work, and need operators who are comfortable with the variety that comes with that environment. One job may be a straightforward pick, another may involve a delivery, loading/unloading, or helping solve a problem for a customer. We want an operator who can get the job done safely without bringing an ego with them. Someone who communicates with dispatch. Someone customers like seeing show up. Pay:
$28.00 - $32.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 70.0 per week
