09/22/2026 Job Description Job Description About Triax Triax Engineering is a Denver-area geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and drilling firm founded in 2014. Our drilling crews support our own geotechnical investigations and provide subcontract drilling services for other consultants on projects for CDOT, airports, school districts, municipalities, and commercial developers along the Front Range. The Role We're looking for an experienced driller to lead a rig and crew on geotechnical and environmental drilling projects across Colorado. You'll be responsible for safe, efficient drilling and sampling, well-maintained equipment, and accurate field records - working closely with our field engineers and geologists. What You'll Do Operate truck- and track-mounted rigs for hollow-stem auger, solid-stem auger, and standard penetration test (SPT) sampling Perform air rotary and rock coring in bedrock conditions Install groundwater monitoring wells and piezometers in general accordance with project specifications and state requirements Collect and label soil and rock samples; keep clear, legible field logs and daily reports Perform daily rig inspections, routine maintenance, and minor repairs; report equipment issues promptly Locate utilities and set up sites in compliance with Colorado 811 and project safety plans Train and supervise a driller's helper Represent Triax professionally on client sites What We're Looking For 3+ years of geotechnical or environmental drilling experience, with hands-on time as the lead driller Experience with CME 55/75-class rigs (or equivalent) and hollow-stem auger sampling Air rotary and/or core drilling experience Monitoring well installation experience Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL a plus Ability to lift 75+ lbs, work outdoors in all seasons, and travel to job sites throughout Colorado (occasional overnight travel) Strong safety mindset; OSHA 10 or 30 a plus Reliable, self-directed, and comfortable communicating with engineers and clients in the field Company Description Triax Engineering, LLC is a Colorado professional services firm providing geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, special inspections, QA/QC testing, geotechnical drilling, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.
