Private - Locator Crestone Services Group Denver, CO Job Details Full-time $22 - $26 an hour 13 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Disability insurance Health insurance Paid time off Employee assistance program 401(k) matching Qualifications Research Driver's License Full Job Description Private Locator DrillTech, LLC is looking for a detail-oriented and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Private Locator supporting our Directional Drill Crews in the Denver market. DrillTech is the premier utility construction services provider in the western region, providing directional drilling, plowing, trenching, spider plowing, hydro excavation, micro trenching, fast fusion, fiber optics, and general underground utility construction.
JOB PURPOSE
The Private Locator is responsible for identifying and marking underground utilities that are not typically located through standard public utility locate (811/One-Call) services, such as private sewer laterals, private water lines, irrigation systems, and other unmarked private utilities. This role works closely with the Directional Drill Crew and Foreman to ensure private utilities are accurately identified and marked prior to potholing, excavation, and drilling activities. This is not a supervisory or foreman position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Locate and mark private and otherwise unmarked underground utilities, including but not limited to private sewer laterals, water lines, and irrigation lines Use electromagnetic locating equipment, sonde/camera equipment, ground-penetrating radar, and other locating tools appropriate to the job Coordinate closely with the Drill Crew and Foreman to schedule and complete locates ahead of potholing and drilling operations Research and review as-built drawings, property records, permits, and other available resources to help identify the probable location of unmarked utilities Accurately mark utility lines, depths, and directions in the field using established marking standards Communicate locate findings clearly to crew members, the Foreman, and project management Maintain accurate locate logs, field notes, and daily reports Identify and promptly report any discrepancies between locate findings and actual field conditions Maintain, calibrate, and care for company locating equipment Follow all safety protocols related to utility locating and general job site safety Keep work areas neat and orderly Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman or other Operations Management Prior experience as a utility locator required; experience locating private utilities (sewer, water, irrigation, etc.) strongly preferred Familiarity with electromagnetic locating equipment; experience with sonde/camera equipment or ground-penetrating radar (GPR) a plus Ability to read and interpret as-built drawings, utility maps, and property records a plus Must have a valid driver's license and motor vehicle history record that meets company insurance requirements Basic math skills Basic computer skills, to maintain locate logs and reports ALL employees must pass a Level 4 background check Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening (will be subject to random drug screenings) Must be able to work long hours Ability to travel as required Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED is preferred
