Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD)J20 and/or J25 Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating specialized drilling equipment to install underground utilities with precision and safety. Your expertise in heavy machinery, utility locating, and construction utility work will ensure efficient project completion while adhering to all safety regulations. Duties CDL A Operate horizontal directional drilling J20 and/or J25 equipment safely and efficiently to install underground utilities according to project specifications. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of construction machinery, including drills, excavators, loaders, and backhoes, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance. Utilize utility locating techniques to accurately identify existing underground infrastructure before drilling begins. Follow federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times to maintain a safe work environment. Assist with excavation, grading, and site preparation activities as needed, supporting overall project progress. Coordinate with team members and supervisors to plan drilling paths, monitor progress, and troubleshoot operational issues promptly. Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and safety inspections in compliance with company policies. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators, loaders, backhoes, and Caterpillar equipment in a construction or utility environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance on drilling and excavation equipment. Familiarity with utility locating methods and tools to prevent damage during drilling operations. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving and transporting heavy equipment safely. Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety protocols on job sites. Construction site experience involving excavation, utility installation, grading, and utility work is highly preferred. Ability to operate loaders, excavators (including backhoes), and other heavy machinery proficiently.
