Job Overview Join our dynamic construction team as a Construction Equipment Operator and take the lead in operating a wide range of heavy machinery to bring infrastructure projects to life! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely maneuvering equipment such as excavators, loaders, graders, dozers, backhoes, dump trucks, and water trucks to perform excavation, grading, paving, utility work, and site preparation. Your expertise will ensure that construction sites run smoothly, efficiently, and safely while adhering to all federal and industry safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your mechanical skills and construction experience while contributing to impactful projects that shape communities. Duties Safely operate heavy construction machinery including excavators, loaders, bulldozers (dozers), graders, backhoes, dump trucks, water trucks, horizontal drilling rigs, and tankers to perform excavation, grading, paving, utility installation, and site preparation tasks. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance. Follow construction utility work procedures by accurately locating underground utilities using utility locating tools before digging or excavation begins. Adhere strictly to federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures at all times on-site. Assist with construction grading activities to achieve precise elevation levels for roads, foundations, or other structures. Operate commercial trucks for transporting materials or equipment around the site or between locations in compliance with commercial truck driving standards. Support horizontal drilling operations and other specialized tasks as needed for complex utility installations or infrastructure projects. Skills Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as excavators (including Caterpillar models), loaders (including wheel loaders), dozers (bulldozers), graders, backhoes, dump trucks, water trucks, and horizontal drilling rigs. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently. Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and the ability to implement safety procedures consistently. Knowledge of construction utility work including underground utility locating and excavation techniques. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with experience in commercial truck driving preferred. Ability to read blueprints and understand technical specifications related to grading and paving projects. Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
