As a drill operator, you will be operating heavy equipment regularly, following architectural plans and guidance to ensure the job is properly completed, and following all necessary safety standards to avoid pipes, wires, and lines. You will also be performing daily, routine maintenance of the equipment you use, reporting any issues or defects for quick fixes, and maintaining a clean work environment. The ideal candidate has previous directional drill experience, can work well within a team environment, and is comfortable working on multiple different job sites and projects. Responsibilities Prepare job sites and equipment prior to drilling/excavating operations Safely and efficiently operate all equipment for underground and utility construction Perform underground utility installation tasks, including boring, trenching, and related activities Accurately locate existing utilities using industry-standard locating systems Ensure all installations meet required clearances and comply with applicable standards and regulations Maintain public safety and protect existing underground utility infrastructure at all times Safely operate company trucks, vehicles, and other equipment Assess job sites, complete necessary documentation, and maintain accurate records Travel to various job sites and execute all tasks with professionalism and high quality standards Carry out other tasks as needed to help ensure successful project outcomes Maintain all equipment used, including cleaning, oiling, and greasing, to keep everything running well Work closely with all employees on the job site and help as needed to keep the project running on schedule Qualifications 1 to 3 years experience in directional dill and excavation operations Strong communication skills The ability to work well within a team environment The ability to work in all weather conditions Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects, digging, and standing for long periods Strong attention to detail Ability to adhere to all safety rules and regulations Knowledge of power tools and industrial machinery is preferred Valid driver's license necessary. CDL preferred.
