Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Directional Drill Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for safely and efficiently operating directional drilling equipment for underground utility installation while maintaining quality, productivity, and jobsite safety standards. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain horizontal directional drilling (HDD) equipment Perform bore planning, setup, and execution according to project specifications Locate existing underground utilities and ensure safe drilling practices Read and interpret bore plans, utility maps, and job specifications Monitor drilling fluids, tooling, and equipment performance Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on drilling equipment Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and jobsite personnel Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment Comply with all company safety policies and DOT regulations Qualifications Minimum 2 years of experience operating directional drilling equipment Valid driver's license required Strong understanding of underground utility installation Ability to read and interpret construction plans and locates Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting and manual labor Strong attention to safety and detail Preferred Qualifications Experience with utility, fiber, gas, or water installations CDL (a plus, but not required) First Aid/CPR or OSHA training
