Job Description

Job Title:
Driller's Helper Job Description This entry-level role supports drilling and geotechnical operations in the Baton Rouge area by assisting with soil sampling, basic construction materials testing, and field inspections. You will travel to various project sites, work closely with technicians and engineers, and gain hands-on experience in the construction materials testing (CMT) and civil construction industries. Responsibilities Assist drillers in setting up, operating, and breaking down drilling equipment at various field locations. Collect soil samples safely and accurately according to established procedures and project requirements. Support soils technicians and engineers during field investigations and construction materials testing activities. Label, document, and handle soil samples to maintain proper chain of custody and data integrity. Perform general labor tasks on site, including site preparation, cleanup, and equipment handling. Follow directions from field technicians and engineers to learn testing methods and inspection processes. Observe and assist with soil testing and inspection activities to better understand geotechnical and CMT practices. Travel regularly to different job sites in the Baton Rouge market and surrounding areas as required. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety policies and procedures. Maintain a clean, organized work area and help ensure tools, equipment, and vehicles are kept in good working order. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baton Rouge, LA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
