Underground Fiber / HDD Construction - Michigan Drillers Locators Drivers Laborers Nobis Technology is hiring experienced underground construction personnel throughout Michigan for ongoing fiber construction projects. We are hiring at all levels , from experienced HDD drillers and locators to drivers and laborers looking to build a career in underground fiber construction. Positions Available HDD Drillers Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment Plan and safely complete bore shots Work closely with the locator and crew to maintain production Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Experience with Vermeer equipment preferred HDD Locators / Crew Leaders Locate and guide HDD bore shots Direct day-to-day crew activities and production Responsible for the crew, trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment assigned to the crew Read prints, bore profiles, utility maps, and locate markings Ensure proper potholing and verification of existing utilities Accurately complete daily production and required field reporting Communicate job progress and field issues with project management Drivers Transport equipment, materials, trailers, and crews between jobsites Assist the underground crew with field operations when not driving Perform vehicle and trailer inspections Maintain assigned trucks and equipment CDL Class A strongly preferred Underground Laborers Assist drillers and locators with daily underground construction Pothole and expose existing utilities Handle conduit, materials, tools, and equipment Assist with site setup, cleanup, restoration, and traffic control Opportunity to learn locating, drilling, equipment operation, and advance within the company Experience We're Looking For Experienced applicants should have knowledge of one or more of the following: FTTH - Fiber to the Home SBU construction Long-haul fiber construction Horizontal directional drilling Underground telecommunications construction Utility locating and damage prevention Potholing and utility exposure Reading construction prints and utility markings Conduit placement and underground fiber installation Qualifications Underground construction experience preferred; required for Driller and Locator positions Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record CDL Class A is a plus at all levels Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus at all levels Must be dependable and willing to work as part of a crew Must take care of company trucks, equipment, tools, and materials Must follow company and customer safety requirements Willingness to travel within Michigan as projects require Why Nobis Technology?
