Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Deep Bore Driller to join our manufacturing team. This role is critical in producing precision rifle barrels by performing deep hole drilling operations to exact specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate deep hole drilling machines (gun drills) to produce barrel blanks Maintain tight tolerances for bore straightness, diameter, and finish Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments Inspect finished work using precision measuring tools (micrometers, bore gauges, etc.) Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment Collaborate with team members to ensure production goals and quality standards are met
Qualifications:
Previous experience in deep hole drilling, gun drilling, or precision machining preferred Strong understanding of machining principles and metalworking processes Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications Familiarity with precision measuring instruments High attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to work independently and as part of a team Willingness to learn and be trained in specialized processes
Preferred Skills:
Experience in firearms or barrel manufacturing CNC machining experience Knowledge of tooling, feeds, speeds, and cutting fluids
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
