Job Description
This is a job for a directional drilling position. We are a pipeline construction company with Vermeer Directional Drilling machines. This is NOT a job opportunity for drilling associated with downhole operations.

Stealth Energy Group is a rapidly growing heavy civil and pipeline contractor operating across North Dakota and multiple states including Texas, Colorado, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. We specialize in pipeline construction, large-scale earthwork, and complex infrastructure projects. We are expanding our trench less capabilities and seeking an experienced Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Lead to build and execute high-performance drilling operations.POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly experienced HDD Lead with strong expertise in drilling operations, steering systems, and fluid management. This individual will lead crews, oversee drilling execution, and ensure safe, efficient, and accurate installations. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical knowledge and the ability to drive results in the field.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage HDD crews for pipeline and utility installations
- Oversee drilling operations including pilot bore, reaming, and pullback
- Operate and/or supervise steering systems DigiTrak
- Manage drilling fluid systems, recycling, and bore stability
- Interpret bore plans, profiles, and as-built data
- Coordinate with project managers, surveyors, and clients
- Maintain production targets, cost control, and schedule adherence
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of HDD experience with increasing responsibility
- Proven experience as a drill operator or HDD superintendent
- Strong knowledge of DigiTrak steering systems
- Experience managing full drill spreads and crews
- Ability to read bore profiles and manage tolerances
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills in field conditions
- Must be willing to operate the drill
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Large-diameter pipeline HDD installations
- Oil & gas or major infrastructure projects
- Experience with mud systems, recycling systems, and frac-out prevention
- Multi-state project experience
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Competitive base salary: $110,000 - $150,000+ (DOE)
