As the Drill Locator, you will ultimately be responsible for safely locating underground bore paths, communicating accurate drill guidance, and supporting successful underground utility installations. You will coordinate with drill crews and deliver efficient, safe, and accurate field operations. As the Drill Locator, your customers are Congruex construction teams and project stakeholders, and you will make meaningful contributions to the company's success through safety, teamwork, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities (Including, but not limited to):- Communicate clear instructions to the driller to avoid damaging utilities
- Maintain locating equipment and report issues to Fleet or Foreman
- Understand and comply with current bluestake laws and utility locating requirements
- Properly calibrate sondes and support drilling operations in the field
- Work collaboratively with team members to complete projects safely and efficiently
- Maintain organization, timeliness, and accuracy in all job duties
- Additional responsibilities within functional scope based on business needs
Required Qualifications:
Education, Licensing, and Certifications- CDL required
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record required Experience
- Experience in underground utility construction or directional boring operations
- Experience supporting bore crews and utility locating in field environments Skills and Abilities
- Ability to mix proper mud for varying ground conditions
- Ability to properly calibrate sondes and locating systems
- Strong communication skills and a positive, adaptable attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using SUBSITE or UMAG locating systems
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work outdoors for extended periods
- Work performed outdoors in all weather conditions and field environments
