Run the Drill. Get Home Every Night. Lovett Services is seeking an experienced Directional Drill Foreman to lead horizontal directional drilling projects throughout the Portland Metro area. This is a hands-on leadership position. Our Foremen don't just supervise—you'll operate the drill, lead a two- to three-person crew, coordinate work in the field, and make sure every job is completed safely, efficiently, and correctly. Approximately 90% of our work is local to the Portland Metro area, allowing our crews to be home each night. What You'll Do Lead a two-person drill crew, with additional labor support on larger projects Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment Coordinate drilling and locating activities to safely complete bores Transport service trucks, trailers, drills, and equipment to and from jobsites Plan and execute drilling work according to project requirements and utility locates Monitor field conditions and troubleshoot issues as they arise Maintain productivity and keep projects moving according to schedule Perform equipment inspections and help ensure drills, trucks, trailers, and tools are properly maintained Communicate job progress, changes, and field conditions with supervisors and project teams Maintain a safe and organized jobsite Lead by example and hold crew members accountable for safety, quality, and performance What We're Looking For Previous horizontal directional drilling experience Experience operating directional drilling equipment Previous crew leadership or Foreman experience Valid Class A CDL required due to service truck and trailer combinations Experience safely towing trailers and heavy equipment Understanding of utility locates and safe drilling practices Strong field troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork Compensation & Benefits $40-$50 per hour DOE, with top-of-range compensation available for highly experienced Drill Foremen.
