Job Title:
Driller's Assistant - Geotech Job Description Join our dynamic team as a Driller's Assistant, where you will play a crucial role in supporting drilling operations across various locations, primarily in Central PA, Western Maryland, Eastern Panhandle of WV, and Northern Virginia. This position offers an opportunity to develop your skills and advance within the drilling industry. Responsibilities Assist the driller in daily operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of the drilling rig and service truck. Load materials and fuel for the day's work, commencing between 5:45 am and 6:00 am from Newburg, PA. Perform labor-intensive tasks at residential construction sites, including handling heavy equipment and tools. Drive company vehicles, requiring a CDL, to transport materials to job sites, which may be up to 2 hours away. Collaborate effectively with the driller and team, demonstrating strong communication and teamwork skills. Manage occasional overnight travel as required, with most workdays lasting 10-12 hours. Ensure safety and efficiency in various weather conditions, adapting to challenges as they arise. Essential Skills Clean driving record and ability to obtain aCDL. 2-3
years of heavy equipment or construction experience. Mechanical skills, especially diesel mechanics, are highly valued. Experience in outdoor work environments and the ability to lift 100 lbs. Proficient use of hand tools and mechanical aptitude. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in welding and heavy equipment operation preferred. Background in landscaping, agriculture, or farm work is beneficial. Ability to pass a drug test. Willingness to travel up to 150 miles daily to job sites. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out ofNEWBURG, PA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
