This energetic position involves locating and guiding underground utilities using advanced detection equipment, supporting safe and efficient construction of underground infrastructure. You'll work closely with construction crews, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and heavy equipment operation skills to maintain project momentum and uphold safety standards. Duties Operate and interpret signals from underground utility locating equipment to accurately identify the position of underground utilities during horizontal drilling projects Assist drill operators by providing precise location data to prevent damage to existing infrastructure Conduct thorough site inspections, including visual checks of excavation areas and surrounding environments Use heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks to prepare sites and support drilling operations Maintain detailed records of locate signals, equipment usage, and site conditions for project documentation and safety compliance Collaborate with construction teams to ensure all activities adhere to safety protocols and project timelines Support the setup and breakdown of construction sites, including the operation of construction vehicles like Caterpillar equipment and water trucks Qualifications Proven experience in construction site operations with familiarity in horizontal drilling or utility installation projects Mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers Valid commercial driver's license with experience operating various types of heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, water trucks, and dump trucks Strong understanding of construction safety standards and procedures Ability to read technical drawings and interpret locate signals accurately Hands-on experience with horizontal directional drilling technology is highly preferred Knowledge of Caterpillar machinery operations is a plus Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and site personnel Embark on a career where your mechanical expertise and passion for construction drive success!
