As a Geotechnical Driller Assistant, you'll play a hands-on role in exploring subsurface conditions that shape everything from buildings to infrastructure. This is not a desk job; it's an opportunity to work outdoors, travel to diverse sites, and be part of a team that quite literally digs deeper to find answers.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in setting up and operating drilling equipment to investigate subsurface conditions. Support the extraction and handling of soil and rock samples that inform engineering decisions. Prepare and organize tools, drill rods, and materials for daily operations. Help maintain a safe, efficient, and well-managed drill site. Observe and learn drilling techniques, contributing to accurate and reliable field data. Perform routine equipment care and assist in troubleshooting basic mechanical issues.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Interest in hands-on, outdoor work and learning technical field skills. Mechanical aptitude and curiosity about how things work. Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus. Willingness to travel, adapt to changing environments, and work extended hours when needed. Dependable, safety-focused, and eager to grow.
Preferred Experience:
Background in construction, drilling, or field-based work environments. Familiarity with tools, equipment, or mechanical systems.
Working Conditions:
Physically active role requiring lifting, bending, and standing for long periods. Work takes place outdoors in varied terrain and weather conditions.
