Assistant Geotechnical Driller Schedule:
Full-Time | Daytime with occasional overtime

Lead Geotechnical Driller Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and safety‑minded Assistant Geotechnical Driller to support drilling operations on a variety of geotechnical and environmental projects. This is a hands‑on, field‑based role ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and gaining technical skills in construction and subsurface exploration. The Assistant Geotechnical Driller works closely with the Lead Driller to complete boring operations, collect soil and rock samples, maintain equipment, and ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Assist the Lead Driller with geotechnical drilling operations (soil borings, rock coring, sampling) Set up, operate, and break down drilling equipment and tooling Handle drill rods, augers, casing, and sampling equipment Collect, label, and store soil and rock samples per project requirements Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of drilling equipment Load and unload equipment and materials at job sites Follow all safety procedures, job site protocols, and company policies Work outdoors in varying weather conditions Travel to local and regional job sites as required Communicate effectively with drill crew, engineers, and project managers Qualifications High school diploma or GED required Valid driver's license (CDL a plus but not required) Ability to perform physically demanding work (lifting, bending, standing for extended periods) Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn heavy equipment operation Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and team‑first mindset Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional overtime Prior experience in drilling, construction, environmental, or geotechnical work is a plus—but not required What We Offer Competitive hourly pay with overtime opportunities On‑the‑job training and skill development Clear growth path to Lead Driller roles Company‑provided safety training and PPE Stable workload with diverse project exposure Supportive team environment focused on safety and learning Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
