- When you work through The Reserves Network, you are eligible to enroll in dental, vision and medical insurance as well as 401K, direct deposit and our referral bonus program Job Description Currently seeking a Modernization Technician to complete skilled and semi-skilled construction, renovation, repair, rehabilitation, and modernization work across residential housing units and Authority-owned facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect housing units and properties, identify repair needs, and recommend project work
- Remodel and rehabilitate occupied and vacant residential units
- Install, repair, or replace drywall, insulation, flooring, doors, windows, trim, cabinets, countertops, toilets, tubs, fixtures, ventilation fans, and backsplashes
- Perform interior and exterior painting, basic framing, carpentry, and finish work
- Complete plumbing repairs and basic electrical work within qualifications
- Construct ADA accessibility improvements such as ramps, railings, and grab bars
- Assist with HVAC replacement, duct repairs, roofing, gutters, and exterior improvements
- Install appliances, including refrigerators, ranges, and water heaters
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and construction equipment
- Maintain accurate records, clean work areas, and complete final punch-list items
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent vocational/technical training required
- Minimum of 2 years of building, residential construction, maintenance, or related experience
- Experience or training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical repair, or an apprenticeship program
- General Contractor License, construction project management experience, or trade certification preferred
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to be insured under the organization's plan
- Ability to read blueprints and inspect work for compliance with plans and specifications
- Knowledge of construction tools, building codes, OSHA requirements, and safe work practices
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and work indoors or outdoors in varying conditions
