Job Title:
Renovation Technician - Anaheim Job Description This role focuses on renovating vacant apartments as part of a two-person team, performing a variety of basic trades tasks including plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and drywall repair to prepare units for new residents. Responsibilities Work as part of a two-person team to renovate vacant apartment units efficiently and safely. Perform basic plumbing tasks such as removing and installing faucets, replacing shower heads, and ensuring fixtures operate correctly. Carry out basic electrical work including installing and replacing ceiling fans and related fixtures in accordance with safety standards. Complete basic carpentry work such as installing baseboards, door casings, and other finish carpentry elements to a clean, professional standard. Patch drywall holes of various sizes and, when needed, remove and replace sections of drywall to restore wall surfaces. Use hand tools and power tools, including sawzalls, cordless drills or impacts, and finish nail guns, to complete renovation tasks accurately. Assist with framing and finish carpentry work as needed to support overall apartment renovation projects. Inspect completed work to confirm quality, functionality, and adherence to project requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area within each apartment unit and common spaces. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working with tools, materials, and building systems. Communicate effectively with teammates and supervisors regarding project status, issues, and material needs. Essential Skills Demonstrated proficiency with hand tools and power tools, including sawzalls, cordless drills or impacts, and finish nail guns. Practical experience performing basic plumbing tasks such as changing faucets and shower heads. Hands-on experience with basic electrical work, particularly installing ceiling fans and similar fixtures. Ability to perform basic carpentry work, including installing baseboards, door casings, and other finish carpentry components. Skill in basic drywall repair, including patching holes and replacing sections of drywall as needed. Ability to read instructions, follow directions, and complete tasks with minimal rework. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering clean, professional-quality finishes. Capability to work effectively as part of a two-person team, coordinating tasks and supporting coworkers. Physical ability to perform renovation work, including lifting materials, standing for extended periods, and using tools throughout the day. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with framing and finish carpentry in residential or multifamily settings. Comfort working with a variety of construction materials and finishes in occupied or unoccupied residential properties. Basic troubleshooting skills for minor plumbing and electrical issues encountered during renovations. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet renovation deadlines. Work Environment This position is based on-site in apartment communities in Anaheim, working primarily inside vacant units undergoing renovation. The environment involves moving between units, handling building materials, and working around plumbing, electrical systems, and drywall. Work hours typically follow a standard daytime schedule aligned with property operations, though specific hours may vary by project needs. The role requires appropriate work attire suitable for construction and renovation activities, including clothing that can get dusty or dirty and footwear that provides protection and stability. Safety practices are emphasized, and you will work with standard construction and maintenance equipment in a setting that values efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anaheim, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
