Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Hanger and Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing drywall surfaces across various commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will help create smooth, flawless walls and ceilings that meet high-quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, develop your skills in drywall installation and finishing, and contribute to transforming spaces with precision and craftsmanship. Duties Measure, cut, hang, and secure drywall panels using hand tools and power tools to ensure proper fit and alignment. Apply drywall mud (joint compound), tape seams, and sand surfaces to achieve a seamless finish suitable for painting or texturing. Read blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately interpret project specifications and ensure precise installation. Perform drywall repairs, patching holes, cracks, or water damage restoration to maintain surface integrity. Texture walls and ceilings using various techniques such as spray or hand-applied methods to match project requirements. Collaborate with carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and other trades to coordinate installation of fixtures, trim carpentry, metal stud framing, and door hanging. Follow construction safety regulations diligently, including proper use of hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and adherence to safety protocol guidelines on-site. Experience Proven construction experience with a focus on drywall installation and finishing. Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and schematics. Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations and best practices for safe operation of hand tools and power tools. Hands-on experience in drywall taping, mudding, texturing, repair work including water damage restoration or mold remediation is preferred. Background in related trades such as plastering, carpentry (including trim carpentry), masonry or remodeling is advantageous. Ability to work efficiently on construction sites with a strong understanding of construction plans and schematics. Prior experience in the restoration industry or working with water damage remediation projects is a plus.
