This position will work on both residential and commercial projects, with occasional interior demolition and general construction work. The ideal candidate is experienced enough to work independently, maintain quality workmanship, and take ownership of assigned work from start to finish. We are looking for someone who is skilled in all three core trades — drywall, painting, and metal framing — rather than someone who specializes in only one. The ability to bring skilled helpers when additional manpower is needed is encouraged. Any helpers brought to the job must be reliable, capable, and able to maintain Wilder Construction's standards for quality, professionalism, safety, and jobsite cleanliness. Job Responsibilities Drywall Hang, cut, and install drywall on walls and ceilings. Finish drywall joints, corners, and fastener heads. Perform drywall repairs, patches, and punch-list work. Install Type X, moisture-resistant, and other specialty drywall as required. Read plans and understand drywall layouts and details. Produce clean, smooth, paint-ready finishes. Painting Perform interior and exterior residential and commercial painting. Properly prep surfaces including scraping, sanding, caulking, patching, and cleaning. Prime and apply finish coats according to project specifications. Cut, roll, and spray as required. Maintain clean lines and professional finishes. Perform touch-ups and punch-list painting. Metal Framing Layout and install light-gauge metal framing. Install metal studs, track, headers, backing, and related framing components. Read and understand framing plans and dimensions. Properly layout walls, openings, soffits, ceilings, and other framed assemblies. Ensure framing is straight, level, plumb, and properly secured. Interior Demolition & General Construction Perform selective interior demolition as required. Remove drywall, ceilings, flooring, framing, fixtures, and other materials as directed. Protect areas and surfaces that are not being demolished. Load, organize, and remove construction debris. Assist with general construction tasks when needed. Jobsite & Professional Responsibilities Work independently and manage assigned tasks efficiently. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite. Follow project plans, specifications, and company standards. Communicate professionally with customers, general contractors, and other trades. Identify potential issues or changes in scope and communicate them before proceeding. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. Complete punch-list items and final details to company quality standards. Be dependable, punctual, and ready to work. Represent Wilder Construction professionally on both residential and commercial jobs. Helper Responsibility The employee may bring skilled helpers when additional manpower is needed to complete a project efficiently. Helpers must be approved as needed and are expected to be reliable, capable, professional, and able to perform their assigned work safely and correctly. This position is intended for a skilled tradesman who can confidently perform drywall, painting, and metal framing work — not an entry-level general labor position. Experience Proven experience managing drywall installation, painting, and metal framing teams within commercial or heavy civil construction projects. Strong background in construction management including scheduling with Primavera P6 or HeavyBid software. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents accurately. Familiarity with OSHA regulations, federal safety standards, and construction site safety management practices. Experience supervising multiple crews on large-scale projects while maintaining strict quality control measures. Skilled in managing project timelines through detailed scheduling coordination; adept at managing budgets and resources effectively. Excellent managerial communication skills with a track record of leading teams in a fast-paced construction environment.
