Job Description

A drywall Installer (or hanger) securely measures, cuts, and fastens wallboards or panels to interior walls and ceilings. They prepare spaces by following design plans and are responsible for ensuring surfaces are flawlessly mounted and sealed—ready for painting or wallpapering.
Key Responsibilities:
Measurement & Layout:
Read blueprints or design plans to calculate required materials, minimize waste, and map out dimensions for the room.
Cutting & Fitting:
Cut drywall panels to size and saw holes for electrical outlets, windows, plumbing, and air-conditioning units.
Installation:
Hang panels by securing them directly to interior wood or metal framework using nails, screws, or specialized adhesives.
Finishing:
(Often combined with taping) Apply joint tape over seams and spread sealing compound (mud) with trowels to hide cracks and screw heads.
Sanding & Smoothing:
Sand dried layers of compound to ensure a seamless, uniform surface.
Site Cleanup:
Maintain a safe and clean workspace by removing debris and properly disposing of scrap materials.
Core Qualifications & Skills:
Construction Knowledge:
Familiarity with basic construction practices, wall framing, and safety procedures.
Technical Skills:
Strong ability to operate hand/power tools and perform basic math for accurate measurements.
Physical Stamina & Dexterity:
Ability to frequently stand, bend, climb ladders, and lift heavy wallboards. Attention to

High precision to ensure boards are installed evenly and no structural imperfections remain.
