Job Summary We are seeking a skilled, dependable, and detail-oriented Drywall Installer & Finisher to join our residential painting and home improvement team. In this role, you will be responsible for drywall installation, repair, taping, finishing, and surface preparation on a variety of residential projects. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craftsmanship and understands that quality drywall work is the foundation for a beautiful finished space. You will work alongside our team to install and finish drywall, repair damaged surfaces, prepare walls and ceilings for painting, and ensure each project is completed to a high standard. We care about doing quality work, treating people with respect, and leaving every area of the job site better than we found it. This position is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their trade and wants to continue growing both professionally and personally. Responsibilities Respect the work environment. Often we will be working in someone's home around their belongings, family, and pets. Measure, cut, and install drywall on walls and ceilings according to project specifications. Properly fasten drywall to framing and ensure panels are installed securely and accurately. Tape drywall joints, apply joint compound, and finish seams, corners, screw holes, and other areas to create smooth, uniform surfaces. Perform multiple stages of drywall finishing, including embedding tape, applying coats of joint compound, feathering, and sanding. Repair existing drywall, including holes, cracks, water damage, damaged corners, and other imperfections. Install and finish drywall around doors, windows, electrical boxes, plumbing fixtures, and other obstacles. Perform drywall patches and blending on existing walls and ceilings so repairs are difficult to detect after painting. Prepare finished drywall surfaces for primer and paint by properly sanding, cleaning, and correcting imperfections. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively. Read and interpret project scopes, measurements, drawings, and instructions to complete work accurately. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the project and properly protect surrounding surfaces, furniture, and belongings. Work safely and responsibly with ladders, scaffolding, sanding equipment, and other job-site tools. Communicate professionally with homeowners, coworkers, and supervisors. Help maintain a professional job site and leave each area cleaner and better than it was found. Skills Strong knowledge of drywall installation and finishing techniques. Experience with taping, mudding, corner bead installation, skim coating, sanding, and drywall repairs. Ability to produce smooth, consistent finishes suitable for high-quality residential painting. Ability to accurately measure, cut, and install drywall. Comfortable working on both walls and ceilings. Experience using common drywall tools and power tools. Ability to recognize imperfections and take the necessary steps to correct them before the project moves on to painting. Basic understanding of residential construction and framing. Basic math skills for measurements, material quantities, and layout. Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship. Dependable, punctual, and willing to take responsibility for the quality of your work. Ability to communicate respectfully and professionally with homeowners and coworkers. Note:
Prior construction experience is required, with professional drywall installation and/or finishing experience strongly preferred. Experience in residential remodeling, painting, or carpentry is a plus. Having your own tools is a plus but not required. A driver's license and dependable transportation are necessary to receive the maximum pay potential and have the greatest opportunity for weekly earning and professional growth.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
