Job Description

Position Overview Set The Tone Painting is looking for a dependable, hardworking Painter / Prep Technician to join our growing painting crew. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, is willing to learn, and wants an opportunity to grow within a professional painting company. The Painter / Prep Technician will primarily be responsible for preparing residential and commercial properties for painting while assisting experienced painters with completing projects efficiently and to Set The Tone Painting's quality standards.
Responsibilities include:
Protect floors, furniture, countertops, cabinets, fixtures, windows, and customer belongings before work begins. Install plastic, masking paper, drop cloths, and floor protection. Remove outlet/switch covers and other items as directed. Fill nail holes, screw holes, dents, and minor drywall imperfections. Perform light drywall patching and repairs. Sand walls, trim, doors, and repaired areas. Caulk baseboards, door casings, window trim, and other appropriate gaps. Scrape and prepare loose or failing coatings. Spot-prime repairs, stains, bare surfaces, and problem areas. Assist with cutting, rolling, brushing, and other painting duties as skill level develops. Assist painters with walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and other surfaces. Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout the project. Clean brushes, rollers, sprayers, tools, and equipment. Load/unload materials and help organize company vehicles and jobsites. Follow company safety procedures and proper ladder practices. Complete final cleanup and assist with punch-list/touch-up work. Maintain professional behavior while working inside customers' homes and businesses. What We're Looking For Painting experience is helpful but not required for the right person. We're looking for someone who is dependable, coachable, productive, and willing to learn the Set The Tone Painting system. Applicants should be comfortable performing physical work, working from ladders, standing for extended periods, lifting typical painting equipment/materials, and working both indoors and outdoors. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are strongly preferred. What We Expect Show up on time. Work hard. Protect the customer's property. Keep the jobsite clean. Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
