Walker Homes & Remodeling is seeking a full-time Helper or Construction Assistant to a Foreman for work on residential houses doing:

• Help repair minor issues in residential homes (e.g., trim installation, paint and sheetrock, hinge and door repair, caulking and grout, carpentry, appliance repair / installation, etc.). All work will be done in small stages or small project capacity.
• Help demolish, replace or construct walls, including framing, drywall and other finish-out functions. All work will be done in small stages or small project capacity.
• Help perform minor drywall patching and repairs. Fills cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g., plaster). Retexture to match existing texture.
• Help apply paint to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with brushes, rollers, and spray machines.
• Maintain a clean and safe job site: Clean and prepare construction sites. Pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards. Haul materials to dump or recycle as appropriate.
• Must maintain professionalism when interacting with clients and other contractors on job site.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers.
• Ability to follow spoken and written instruction and work in fast paced construction environment.
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Able to work outside in variable weather conditions
• Must have reliable transportation and the ability to report to different job sites.
• Must have basic tools to help complete all previously listed projects.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds and climb ladders.

One day you might be helping installing trim, painting, cleaning a jobsite later that day, and the following day helping complete demolition, hanging drywall or framing a project. The variety keeps things interesting! Who would ever want to do the same thing every day! Not us! Qualifications Ability to follow instructions accurately and work as part of a team. Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety standards. Physical ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting light to moderate loads and standing for extended periods. Reliable transportation or means to access various job sites. Prior experience in handyman services or construction is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates.
