Job Description
Overview GALA Empire is looking for enthusiastic, dependable, and caring Afterschool Counselors to join our team. Our program serves students in Pre-K through 4th Grade , providing a safe, structured, and engaging environment where children can learn, complete homework, build friendships, and participate in fun recreational activities. If you're passionate about working with children and creating a positive impact every day, we'd love to meet you. Responsibilities Supervise students at all times to ensure a safe and positive environment. Assist students with homework and academic support. Lead and participate in organized indoor and outdoor activities. Encourage teamwork, respect, and positive behavior. Take and maintain accurate daily attendance records. Communicate professionally with staff, parents, and school administrators. Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging activity space. Follow all program policies and safety procedures. Qualifications Experience working with children in a school, daycare, camp, or afterschool setting is preferred. Passion for working with children and helping them succeed. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail. Dependable, punctual, and professional. Reliable transportation. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred. Employment Requirements Successful completion of a Level 2 Background Check . Fingerprinting required. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. High school diploma or GED required. Physical Requirements Ability to actively participate in indoor and outdoor activities. Ability to stand, walk, and supervise students for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when necessary. Compensation & Schedule $15.00-$18.00 per hour Monday-Friday 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM Opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
