IEC of Kentuckiana is committed to maintaining the highest standard of excellence in electrical training. We are seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and passionate individual to join our team as a Part-Time Electrical Instructor. If you have extensive experience in the electrical trade and a passion for teaching, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on future electricians.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct Apprenticeship Classes:
Equip students with the essential knowledge and skills to enhance their work in the electrical field. Teach "Plug In Program"
Classes:
Provide foundational electrical training to individuals new to the trade, introducing them to key concepts and skills needed for success.
Conduct Pre-Apprenticeship Classes:
Equip students with the essential knowledge and skills to prepare them for entry into apprenticeship programs.
Host Field Trips & Community Outreach:
Facilitate field trips for local students and industry partners at IEC, and represent IEC at community schools, career fairs, and special events. Test Review Classes (EE/ME): Provide in-depth review and study materials to assist students in preparing for EE/ME certification exams.
Continuing Education:
Teach ongoing educational courses to electricians, ensuring they remain up to date with industry standards and regulations. Engage with
Local Schools:
Visit schools and engage with students about careers in the electrical trade and the benefits of joining the apprenticeship programs.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the electrical trade or a related field.
Certifications:
Must hold an active journeyman or master electrician license (or equivalent) and have experience with the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications and continued professional development are a plus.
Communication Skills:
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to teach, engage, and motivate students of all skill levels.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed for various classes. Passion for
