Full Job Description Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and reliable Groundhand to support our linemen and electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals interested in developing a long-term career in the electrical utility and construction industry. The Groundhand plays a critical role in maintaining safety, efficiency, and support during electrical operations, both overhead and underground. Key Responsibilities Assistance in Installations Support linemen and electricians during installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. Assist with setup and breakdown of job sites, transporting tools, materials, and supplies. Help prepare and assemble electrical components as directed. Safety and Compliance Strictly follow all company safety rules, OSHA standards, and project-specific safety protocols. Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free job site. Provide lookout/watch support when linemen are working near energized equipment. Equipment Handling & Ground Support Operate, inspect, and maintain tools and equipment, including ladders, lifts, ropes, and hand tools. Provide ground support for overhead and underground electrical installations, including pulling cable, handling wire, and staging materials. Operate ground-level equipment to support linemen during MV terminations, pole setting, or pad-mount installations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Basic knowledge of electrical principles preferred (not required). Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physically demanding labor. Strong willingness to learn from experienced team members and linemen. Good communication and teamwork skills. Valid driver's license preferred (CDL is a plus). Must be safety-conscious, dependable, and adaptable to changing field conditions.
