Job Description

Avery County Electric is looking for a dependable and motivated Electrical Helper to join our team. This position will assist our electricians with residential, commercial, and renovation projects while gaining hands-on experience in the electrical trade. The ideal candidate is someone who is hardworking, reliable, willing to learn, and comfortable working with hand and power tools. Previous electrical or construction experience is preferred but not required. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in building a career in the electrical trade. Assist electricians with electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance. Help pull, route, and organize electrical wire and cable. Assist with installation of electrical boxes, fixtures, outlets, switches, and other equipment. Load, unload, organize, and maintain tools and materials. Safely operate basic hand and power tools. Assist with preparing job sites and keeping work areas clean and organized. Follow directions from electricians and supervisors. Help identify and gather materials needed for each job. Assist with demolition and removal of existing electrical components when needed. Follow all company safety procedures and job-site safety requirements. Learn and develop basic electrical skills through hands-on experience. Work cooperatively with electricians, contractors, and other trades on job sites. Perform other duties as assigned to support the electrical crew. Previous electrical, construction, maintenance, or handyman experience is preferred but not required. Basic knowledge of hand and power tools. Willingness and ability to learn the electrical trade. Ability to follow instructions and work well under supervision. Dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team. Strong work ethic and positive attitude. Ability to work in a variety of job-site conditions. Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as required. Valid driver's license preferred. Must be willing to follow all safety procedures and company policies. We are looking for someone who shows up, works hard, is willing to learn, and takes pride in doing a good job. A great attitude and strong work ethic are just as important as previous experience.
Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
