An Electrician works on electrical systems in buildings. Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.
Job Summary The Electrician is tasked with ensuring the safe upkeep and repair of production equipment to optimize quality, uptime, speed, and output. This role demands a strong electrical aptitude, as well as skills in troubleshooting and problem-solving to diagnose and fix electrical issues. Duties & Essential Job Functions Ensure all electrical maintenance follows defined safety procedures and verify all guards and safety equipment are operational before handing equipment over to the operator. Monitor, inspect, and complete equipment reports using both manual and computerized maintenance management systems. Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings to repair equipment, machinery, and physical structures. Use hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, measuring devices, and testing equipment properly. Troubleshoot and resolve quality, process, and electrical problems. Perform electrical tasks related to breakdown maintenance, preventive maintenance, and production changeovers. Maintain audit-ready housekeeping standards after completing electrical tasks. Report unresolved safety, quality, operational, or output issues to the supervisor. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Lock Out, and other safety protocols. Consistently follow company policies, work instructions, procedures, and API/ISO requirements. Comply with local, state, and federal regulations such as OSHA and EEO.
