Lead Electrician Residential & Light Commercial

About the Role We are seeking a dedicated Lead Electrician for a full-time, W-2 hourly position based in Tucson, AZ. Compensation ranges from $34 to $38 per hour, determined by your specific qualifications and background. You will serve as a primary figure in our field operations, managing residential and light commercial projects throughout the local area. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional capable of making critical field decisions independently. You will be expected to maintain high standards for safety and workmanship while serving as a key point of contact for our customers and local inspectors. Key Responsibilities Execute electrical installations for residential and light commercial properties. Manage service calls and perform complex troubleshooting tasks. Perform service upgrades and replace electrical panels. Install charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. Complete various electrical improvements, including lighting and circuit work. Ensure project compliance by coordinating inspections and permit requirements. Collaborate with other trade professionals to streamline field activities. Interpret technical documentation, including one-lines, blueprints, and equipment manuals. Foster positive relationships through professional customer interactions. Maintain accurate records of work performed using job notes and photographic documentation. Help maintain a safe and orderly environment for the entire team by keeping jobsites clean. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to apprentices and junior staff. Contribute to the development of field procedures to ensure consistent quality standards. Minimum Qualifications Five or more years of field experience in the electrical trade. Proven expertise in residential troubleshooting and service work. Demonstrated proficiency in panel replacements and system upgrades. Hands-on experience with EV charger installations. Background in light commercial electrical systems. Experience navigating the permitting and inspection process. Strong grasp of local codes and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Ability to accurately analyze electrical diagrams and technical plans. Knowledge of load calculations and system design principles. Familiarity with basic automation and electrical control systems. Leadership experience in managing small crews or apprentices. Ability to estimate material and labor needs to help maintain project profitability. Arizona journeyman certification or equivalent professional credentials. Current OSHA 10 or 30 safety certification. Proven capacity to work autonomously and make sound field judgments. Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with clients and inspectors. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a standard background check. Consistent record of punctuality and reliable attendance. Physical capability to perform all necessary trade-related tasks. Basic proficiency in general construction and adjacent trade skills. Willingness to support the professional development of junior team members. What Success Looks Like Deliver workmanship that is consistently safe, accurate, and tidy. Maintain a professional demeanor during all customer communications. Ensure all field documentation and inspection records are precise. Keep all worksites organized to improve overall efficiency. Proactively identify and report potential scope changes or project obstacles. Coordinate effectively with suppliers, inspectors, and internal staff. Apply sound judgment to manage materials and labor usage. Provide clear direction to help apprentices grow their skill sets. Ensure all company tools and vehicles are handled with care. Schedule Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, though project demands may require occasional schedule flexibility. Overtime opportunities may arise based on customer needs and project timelines. Compensation & Benefits Hourly pay rate of $34-$38 based on experience. Full-time, W-2 employment status.
