Job Description

Essential Electric is a small family owned business in Auburn, CA. We specialize in residential and light commercial work. Recent and upcoming jobs include new construction ADUs, panel swaps, lighting remodels, EV Chargers, outdoor electrical (for backyards and spas) and troubleshooting. Future work may include small developments and solar work. Since we are a small family business we do our best to accomodate vacations and time off, while balancing a full work schedule. In addition, due to our size and connections to local contractors you will be exposed to a variety of jobs. We are seeking an Electrical Journeyman with their current EIT card/ Journeyman License to join our team. You will work alongside a journeyman electrician to complete various residential and commercial jobs until trained to go out on your own jobs. Typical projects include panel swaps, lighting remodels, new wiring of ADUs, troubleshooting and EV chargers. This position offers a valuable opportunity for growth and hands-on experience in the electrical field.- Duties for
Journeyman:
- Duties and pay will vary based on experience.
- Assist/lead in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems
- Interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
- Troubleshooting electrical issues
- Participate/layout in wiring ADUs and new builds
- Installation of underground and exposed conduit
- Attending estimate site walks for estimator
- Installing new construction solar/reinstalls for reroofs (limited)
- Requirements for
Journeyman:
- Journeyman level experience or knowledge in residential and commercial electrical work
- Ability to work well within a team and potentially manage apprentices
- Journeyman level understanding of electrical concepts and terminology
- Desire to grow alongside a growing electrical company
- Strong attention to detail and safety protocols
- English speaking
- People skills are a plus
