Job Description

Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both residential and commercial electrical work, with proficiency in various electrical systems and tools. This role requires the ability to read blueprints and schematics, as well as experience in construction and renovation projects. The Journeyman Electrician will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations and repairs meet industry standards and comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) as well as high company standards of clean workmanship. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and residential settings. Utilize hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose issues and perform repairs. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute projects accurately. Conduct high voltage installations and low voltage wiring as required by specific projects. Collaborate with construction teams on-site to ensure electrical work aligns with overall project timelines and specifications. Perform renovations involving electrical upgrades or modifications while adhering to safety protocols. Ensure compliance with NEC regulations during all electrical installations and repairs. Maintain a clean and safe work environment on construction sites. Qualifications Proven experience as a commercial electrician is preferred. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment related to electrical work. Strong understanding of electrical systems, including high voltage, low voltage, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation effectively. Experience in construction site environments is essential; maintenance person experience is a plus. Knowledge of frame carpentry is beneficial for integration with other trades on-site. Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work performed. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other tradespeople.
